Every person who lives in a long-term care facility keeps the same basic rights they had at home — the right to be treated with dignity, to make choices, and to be safe from harm. This module covers the legal rights of residents established by the 1987 Nursing Home Reform Law (part of OBRA), how CNAs support those rights every day, and how to recognize and report abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
