Identify major antihistamines used to treat breathing problems caused by allergies. Explain when you would use an antihistamine and when you would use a decongestant. Describe the action of antitussive medications. List medications used to treat and prevent asthma attacks. Describe the major actions. And adverse reactions of the two main categories of bronchodilators. Explain why some decongestants are OTC and not prescription. Describe the mechanism of action for expectorants. List the major contraindications to the use of nasal steroids.
