Apprenticeship programs are an opportunity for practical community transformation, in real time. Student apprentices can acquire technical skills, competitive DOL approved certifications, and earn money all while completing their apprenticeship requirements. For student apprentices, benefits include the following:

  1. Earn money while completing their apprenticeships (this can take place immediately after graduation, or in some cases while still in high-school). This is a major benefit, because mosts technical / educational programs not only don’t pay the student matriculating through their program, but they also require tuition. This is called an “earn while you learn” model.
  2. Earn both high school credit and college credits (dual enrollment) at a local college or university. This is benefits the students by allowing them to earn college credits, while still being able to take the course in their high school setting, and increases enrollment for colleges and university, and the positive impact on student and the surrounding communities, as well as communities who may not have otherwise have a clear path to college.
  3. Apprentices are able to gain real world experiences in their chosen industry / build their resumes while getting paid to do so.
  4. Apprentices are able to build a professional network, by being a part of the apprenticeship model. Already, our apprentices will have a DOL sponsored MA certificate at the conclusion of the program, which will allow for more professional open doors and career opportunities that they otherwise may not have access to.
